Production takes 6 to 8 weeks: that’s how long it takes us to apply our expertise and craft high-quality shoes.

The team

A decisive meeting

Clémence Nerbusson and Sophie Brulé:their story began in 2015. They are two independent women with different backgrounds who share common values and aspire to the same ideals.

Partners since 2018, they decided to take over the workshop that manufactures Chaussures de Gatine at the end of 2020, convinced by the quality of these shoes and the importance of preserving this craftsmanship.

A winning bet

This recovery will become a reality in March 2021 with the resumption of production.

Since then, they have been living and sharing every moment of this adventure with a top-notch team—one they trust implicitly and who supports them in their ambitious project!

A motivated team

Martine

Sewing machine

A true native of Gatineau, she began sewing Gatineau garments at the age of 18. Unmatched in her efficiency, she knows the patterns and sewing machines by heart and can adapt to any situation. As the production manager, she sets the daily pace for assembly.

LAURINE

Cutter/Stitcher

With a vocational diploma in leather goods, she discovered the world of footwear during an internship at our factory and has been there ever since. She started out as a stitcher—a role she still occasionally fills—and is now in charge of cutting and preparing all upper and sole components.

CLARISSE

Seamstress/Assembler

After earning a science-focused high school diploma and a vocational certificate in leather goods, Clarisse joined us as an apprentice to explore the exciting world of shoemaking. With her vocational certificate in shoemaking in hand, she took some time to travel before rejoining our team in the unique role of stitcher-assembler.

GAëL

Editor/Post-Producer

Born into a family of shoe makers, he spent many years working in the orthotics field in various roles, where he met Clémence and helped train her in the technical aspects of the trade. His professionalism, adaptability, and curiosity made him the perfect candidate for our shoe maker/finisher position.

CORINNE

Petting machine

After studying history, Corinne earned a master’s degree in education before working in youth programming. Knowing she was skilled with her hands, we offered her a maternity leave replacement position. The experience was a success, so she joined us a few months later and took on the role of pet groomer.

VINCENT

Sales

After 25 years leading a sales team that worked with major retailers, Vincent likes to think of business as a game. Today, he has become a trainer: he sees sharing his expertise as a duty, and through Gatine, he keeps one foot firmly in the practical world while guiding us in our strategy and business development.
